BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In her pieces, London-based artist Hannah Hewetson makes the abstract sensible in an almost three-dimensional way: Her abstract figures in which mystery and precision harmonize absorb its viewers and create unpredictable effects as they collide.
An invitation to the state of confusion, a state of mind the artist herself embraced during the creative process, in order to emerge from the chaos with an entirely new sense of clarity. Artist and viewer can share the overwhelming feeling of being completely taken in by the piece of art, of forgetting oneself and thus going beyond the familiar. A process of deconstruction, reconstruction and hence construction per se. The inner process of artist and viewer add an unexpected, new element. A bold detour that leads the daring onto new paths. Hannah Hewetson's art cherishes fluctuation and ambiguity. The finished work, classified between Kandinsky’s abstract art and the graffiti art of Jacopo Ceccarelli alias 2501, is a call for expansion and development. Not created to provide answers but to raise questions, not to image something but to make us imagine more, not to inform but to inspire
