1897 born in Esslingen/ Baden-Württemberg Chemigraph studies, "service" in WWI and studies of typography at the School of Applied Arts in Stuttgart 1922 Began his self-taught photographic career at the State Office for Monument Maintenance in Stuttgart 1927 Opened his own atelier. Established himself through his Bauhaus inspired furniture, porcelain and glass photographs as a widely sought-after object photographer.
1937 Photographed for the Federation, even continuing his work through WWII. 1946 With a contract from Bauknecht, he began his post-war career giving him the opportunity to document German design and history in the 50’s and 60’s.Â
